There are few reasons why I hate the finale. Just a few. Well, you see, what happened in the finale is something that you wouldn't think it'll turn out that way, yet I kind of saw it coming. Huh ang labo ba? Yea, I was not that shocked when I found out that the Mother we've all been waiting to meet is apparently dead (woops, huge spoiler for those who haven't seen it yet). I might've read an article about that months before the finale, so I had a hint that that could possibly happen, and so it did. Huwaw. Now that the series finally ended (after 9 years woah), I don't think the title "How I Met Your Mother" is fitting for what Ted has been telling his kids. It should've been, "How I Met Your Aunt Robin". I was never a fan of Ted and Robin's love affair. There was just no legendary awesomeness to it, like what Robin had with Swarley. UGH.
I hate that even after Ted found his "The One", he still hasn't managed to let his feelings for Robin go. I hate that love is not enough for Robin and Barney to keep their marriage. I hate that Barney's still Barney from 2005. I hate that Robin and Barney got divorced just like that!!!! Just like that! I mean, really?! Barney fell in love with Robin, they got together, they broke up, they managed to still be friends, Robin never unloved Barney, Barney proposed to Robin under a mistletoe, they got engaged, and we freakin' waited for an entire season for them to finally walk down the aisle! It was exactly 23 hours of watching what happened before the wedding day! 23 episodes, 1 weekend and it took 2 minutes to break the news that they got a divorce?! I just.. I can't.
Okay, moving on (I'm trying)... What also bothered me is that the boys got their happy ending, apparently. Why so? Well, Marshall went from being the Judge Fudge to the Fudge Supreme! Ted met the Mother of his children. And Barney became a Daddy. He's the cutest Daddy with a baby on a suit. But uh, what about the girls? Lily never got to fulfill her dream to become an artist, and now she's on her third pregnancy. I mean, yea, every child's a blessing but wouldn't a little twist on Lily's career would be nice? Oh, and as for Robin, she's still the busy field reporter who ended up being a mommy to a dozen of dogs in her forties. What's the fun in that?
But nonetheless, my hatred for the finale didn't change the fact that I love the series as a whole. It had been a part of my life, and I'll never get tired of watching it over and over and over again. I saw how the gang changed in so many ways. HIMYM taught us how to love and value friendship. If only I could give the writers a big hug!
