WHAT TEAM? ASIA! WHAT TEAM? ASIA! WHAT TEAM?!! GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!!!
Hahahaha no.
Hi! Good morning/afternoon! I'm Rachel from TeamAsia, I'd like to order one tall caffe americano and a croissant. Yes, yes. Thank you!
Hahaha no.
Okay, time to get serious. I just finished my internship!!! Yay me! What's that face? You're not happy for me? I thought we're friends? Why can't you be happy for me? I finished my 400 hours internship! Huzzah! Yea, I didn't think I could make it either, but then I did so yay! TeamAsia wasn't my first choice really, since I'm an ambitious frog, I wanted to take my internship at a publishing company, hmm Summit Media to be exact. But then since a guy named Gino from TeamAsia texted me 3 hours after I submitted my resume, ah what the heck TeamAsia it is! So my friend and I went to a very casual interview bla bla bla, to cut the story short, we got in and asked to participate/usher their event at Malate the next day. Hashtag medyo mabilis ang pangyayari. Okay! So there we are, ushering the event bla bla, hearing Ramon Bautista talk about how jerk guys are and pakipot girls are bla bla, ate pizza bla bla, stayed for the after party bla bla and went home. Don't get me wrong, the event was fun, yea. So the weekend passed... Monday - first day of actual internship. My Dad drove me to Alabang like a 12-year old on her first day of school haha I love my Dad. We walked to the office with our "intern ako at walang alam dito" face and it was awkward! But then we got our instructions, we have to market a training through calling people up, and so I did. I did okay, I think. So there, had to call that person and that person and I never got a lead. Haha I'm not an effective marketer.
My first few weeks in TA were mostly telemarketing, updating PMAP database, drinking tea, doodling, then came the DOH event which is Pilipinas Go4Health. We were asked to be a part of this event. We had to search for potential sponsors, send letters for sponsors, make sure the venue is accessible. And I was in-charge in getting hosts and talents for the event. I got in touch with Nicole Hyala to ask if she's interested to host the event but apparently she's too pregnant , so ugh. I had to contact Chris Tsuper, so I contacted his manager and made a negotiation, but then I still have to search for hosts. I had to search for opening act for the event, the performers had to be well-known but with a rate of not more than Php50,000. One thing that challenged me the most is that I had to meet the standards of my boss or else he'll turn down my proposed talents. So I called a lot of performers and I finally got my opening act with a rate of Php20,000 which is UP Streetdance Club. Aside from organizing the event, we were given a major task to pitch for a project and that will be one of the basis of our grade. My project pitch was to plan a Christmas party, so since Christmas season is a time of giving (waw), I chose Bahay Maria to be the recipient of my Christmas party. The project plan has to be detailed from the venue to the table centerpiece. I made a pre-event plan, program design, program agenda, sponsorship package, financial aspect, and pegs for my Christmas party. Well, I got through it naman.
Tenenen! June 6! DOH event! Naaah that's a long story. That's another blog entry.
If you would read everything I wrote on the second paragraph, you might think that my job was no fun at all. Well, yeah, mostly. But the main reason that the word FUN suddenly pops out on my desk is because of my co-interns who made my TA life bearable.
