Rach Rover: A Day at Bangkok, Thailand
Last stop for our VCT trip.. Bangkok, Thailand.
The ride going from Siem Reap to Bangkok was longer than expected. Passing the border took a while and the van had few stops to fetch passengers. There was this one lady who got in by the time we passed Thailand and she instantly destroyed our peaceful journey. Don't get me started.
We got to Bangkok at around 4:00PM, checked in at our hotel and ate dinner. We went for a stroll after dinner at Khao San Road. It's like a typical tiangge of street foods, clothes and knick knacks.
On our first and last full day at Bangkok, we kicked off our day with a classic Thai noodles and Thai milk tea at a local food stand. When we stuffed our tummies with good food, we were more than ready to head to our first stop.. Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha. It was so grand and beautiful. Everything was clothed in emerald and gold.
After all the royalty feels, we decided to head to the Damnoen Floating Market. The boatman we got was a bit pasikat. I didn't know if it's part of the package but it felt like we were on a jet ski or something. It made the ride exhilarating. We didn't buy anything from the market because prices were doubled compared to the night markets. Oh, and we had pad thai and iced milk tea for lunch while on the boat.
To cap off our trip, we went to a market (which name I forgot) like a divisoria which has the most insane prices. Everything is so cheap.. we were in shopping heaven. Your 1000 baht can go a long way.
